Peter Baum is a tax partner at Imowitz Koenig & Co., LLP (IK&Co) with more than 25 years of industry experience working with multinational firms, high net-worth individuals and privately held companies.

Peter leads the Firm’s International Tax Services practice and Tax Accounting practice.  Peter specializes in advising clients on a wide range of compliance and specialized consulting services including domestic and international tax matters, crafting and implementing tax strategies into their financial and business plans, and expanding operations globally.

He has significant experience advising on, reviewing, and preparing tax provisions under ASC 740, formerly known as FIN 48, for financial statements as well as advising, implementing and disclosing companies’ uncertain tax position as required under ASC 740.

Prior to joining IK&Co, Peter was with a well known regional Firm and the national office of a Big 4 firm, where he served as the lead tax professional for large multinationals and worked on both domestic and international tax issues.

Peter is a frequent speaker at the NY State Society of CPA’s International Taxation conference.  Peter holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Syracuse University and is a Certified Public Accountant in NY and CT and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).
